While abroad in Morocco and all throughout, I complained loudly about how much I missed my favorite local coffee shops in St. Paul. Today I’m sitting in one I haven’t spent too much time at before. The coffee shop in which I found myself most productive recently closed and I’m shopping around for a new work spot. So far… I have spent a lot of time on the internet. I guess I can’t blame the coffee shop for that – or can I? Damn you free wi-fi!
I don’t know what makes a coffee shop one of my favorite places to spend time. Probably the fact that unlike when I try to do work at the library, I actually feel productive when I do work at a coffee shop. Compared to everyone else, I am getting a lot of dead white philosophy read / transcribing done / writing completed / progressing on whatever. Not to mention that they’re pretty comfortable, have delicious things, and get me out of the house.
I should probably go back to pretending to transcribe now… but I should really just say that I’m thrilled to be back in St. Paul, wonderful city of local coffee shops.
