Sometimes your body just decides to crap out on you. It’s a good thing I was ahead of my work this week considering how much sleeping I’ve been doing to fight off this virus! I finally broke down this morning and went to the health center and that’s what it is, a virus. A fever-inducing, voice-morphing, throat-scratching virus. I’m unfortunately going to have to miss the trip to Hope Lodge but I suppose that it’s better that I don’t get anyone more sick than they already have to be. In an attempt to stay positive, here are a few good things that have come out of my being sick.
1. I get to sleep a lot!
2. Honey – I often try to be health conscious and limit the amount of sweetener I use in my tea. Not today. Hello, honey, and lots of you.
3. I get to shamelessly watch bad TV and not feel guilty about it.
4. I’ve finally fired up my brand new crock pot! I actually don’t know why it took me this long, but it seemed right today. According to the manual, the bizarre smells are normal and shouldn’t affect anything… which is good because I definitely started to panic when my kitchen started smelling like burnt plastic and overheated metal. Hopefully in a few hours I’ll have a great split pea soup!
Off to recover more and hopefully drag myself to class in a few hours. Send some healing thoughts my way.
